The forums are designed to coexist with other communication methods, namely the Scratch forum topic. Why? Because some people are unable to access these forums, usually because their school might use a whitelist. This is a huge consideration, considering about half of all Scratchers only use it during school time.
Others might have gotten so mad about discussions randomly being deleted that they decided to stop using our forums because they were too broken and might even fear their account being deleted randomly. (Speaking of which, we are considering moving to a new forum when we get a server to host AmpMod on.)
Some people might just be lazy, not knowing we have a forum even though there is literally a link on the wiki’s sidebar and main page. It was originally created because I got permabanned from Scratch and needed a way to discuss AmpMod with others. My appeal—and these forums—have coexisted for nearly a quarter of a year.
Luckily, the people who spammed the topic don’t have a clue about the existence of this forum, because we haven’t seen any accounts created by them or any annoying spam posts. In fact, I can link nearly all AmpModders with an account here to the accounts they have on Scratch. For example, o97doge here is o97doge on Scratch (pretty obvious).
The closest we got to these forums being spammed is when the Scratch Movie: Quest for Bugs team wanted to use our forums for their movie, even though their project wasn’t being made in AmpMod. Since both groups are fairly distant besides from me being a part of both, I decided not to allow them to, as this is an AmpMod forum, not another Scratch forum.
