Wanna know something?
I wished I joined in Scratch 2.0.
Now I have been exposed to the existence of Scratch since about 2017, but I only really came to play some games. I wished I would’ve took a good look around the website and made some projects.
I did join pretty early in the 3.0 era (specifically 2 years after 3.0 came out, and 2 years before the purple rebrand), but tbh 2.0 would’ve been better. I also would’ve been able to brag to today’s Scratchers that I joined before some of them were even born.
I watched the getting started 2.0 video. It gave me the feeling that Scratch in 2.0 was ran by a group of people who were actually passionate for early programming and offering a fun community, but when 3.0 and the purple color (which I still do prefer btw) came around, Scratch felt more like some businessmen who didn’t know what programming even was.
