Do we need more admins?

50_scratch_tabs

@amp You're going to be inactive for who knows how long, I'm supposed to have been inactive for months. Do we need more admins? If so, who do you think?

@unconstructable13 might be a candidate, but they have abused their privileges before and I hesitate to give them something as powerful as admin/director.

@Abdavark seems to have been active, at least on the Wiki. Are they mod on here? If so, I'd support giving them admin.

For that matter, @Anonymised_user_6 might also be a good candidate, but I know they're inactive.

What are your thoughts?

If you don't reply in 48 hours, I'll assume you won't see it and I'll start communicating with @Abdavark , who I think is the best candidate.

amp

i'm active again since i finally found the thing
abdavark is already a bureaucrat on the wiki after some permissions were moved to director (they haven't been active since late may, but that's understandable)
i wouldn't give construct admin/director permissions, i know he's done stuff before like shadow banning my account
gvyoutube recently got mod permissions, we shouldn't grant him admin permissions immediately after
o97doge was an early contributor back when this programming language was called ultiblocks, so i would probably give him mod permissions, but he has't been very active on the forums (correction: according to his codeberg page his pronouns are he/him)

amp

also who should be admin on the ampmod website when that is released? obviously me, most likely you, maybe abdavark and o97doge?

50_scratch_tabs

amp probably. Also, could you explain the admin/bureaucrat/director thing?

amp

50_scratch_tabs
admins have the ability to edit fully protected pages and do stuff like protecting and deleting pages
bureaucrats can give other users admin permissions, and can add namespaces
directors have all managewiki options, and can lock down editing the entire site for newer users temporarily in case of a large spam attack

50_scratch_tabs

So admins have the same privileges they've had, bureaucrats lost some manage wiki permissions, and directors have everything? I feel like the split between bureaucrat and director is unnecessary. Is there really enough of a split in trust levels?

Should we modify the forums to be similar?

amp

50_scratch_tabs Should we modify the forums to be similar?

maybe not, because the wiki actually has more users right now
