All AmpMod GitHub repositories have been archived and will be deleted tomorrow.
This decision has been made due to:
- Privacy issues and AI training that violates the GPL.
- AmpMod’s internals (e.g. CI) being closely tied to Codeberg and Forgejo (e.g. Woodpecker CI instead of GitHub Actions).
- Very few issues and PRs being made to AmpMod on GitHub.
- The fact that in the AmpMod community, GitHub has essentially been buried in the Earth’s core.
- Deep GitHub AI integration. In fact, Microsoft made GitHub specifically part of their AI division, showing how they’re going too far and having AI feature creep in all of their products.
- Remaining parts of AmpMod that still relied on GitHub were already refactored or removed.
All history and most issues/PRs from AmpMod’s existing GH repos has already been copied to Codeberg, so nothing useful should be lost.
