unconstructable13 Edit: Also I do want to mention that in gparted the operating system appears to be fully installed after the installation freezes (around 9-10gb used) so now I would like to know how to switch to the operating system since I can’t in the first place. I’m going to try deleting Ubuntu off my computer for the last time and reinstalling it again to make sure it’s correctly installed because I crashed out in my last attempt

go into live usb, click Try Ubuntu, open a terminal, and type sudo ls /boot/efi/EFI/Ubuntu. Does anything appear when running that, or does it show an error?

this might just be because of how laggy ubuntu’s installer is (it’s literally a flutter app how could you expect it to use only 1 kb of ram), you might want to use something like debian stable instead.
If you have another device, you should probably open another browser and navigate to https://documentation.ubuntu.com/desktop/en/latest/tutorial/install-ubuntu-desktop/ and read it very carefully while installing. Don’t try to mess with Windows Disk Manager or use any Windows tool to modify Linux data (but it should be fine to use Linux to modify Windows data)

If you get a new computer you might want to consider one that actually comes with Linux or even no OS at all so you don’t have to go through all the hassle.

unconstructable13 ok, try shutting down then booting back up while spamming f12 or delete, look thru your bios to see if your system is using UEFI or EFI.

unconstructable13 that means either your pc is using BIOS or i got bamboozled by arch linux.

try sudo ls /sys/firmware/efi instead. if that fails, you are on legacyBIOS.
